What I Offer

Herbal Medicine Consultations

A thorough, compassionate exploration of your health, terrain, energetics and emotional landscape.
You receive a personalised herbal plan using simple, effective formulas created for your constitution and your story.

Iridology Readings

Your eyes reveal your constitution, vitality, inherited tendencies and emotional imprinting.
Iridology gives a clear map of what your body is asking for and where healing wants to begin.

Seasonal Workshops on the Downs

Foraging, medicine-making, and nature connection rooted in the Sussex landscape.
Accessible, hands-on sessions to deepen your understanding of plants, terrain, and seasonal self-care.

Sussex as Medicine

The Sussex landscape influences everything I do.
The chalk hills, coastal winds, hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna), juniper (Juniperus communis), sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides), and mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) all shape the nervous system and emotional terrain in unique ways.

This land asks us to slow down, soften, and listen.
Your treatment is guided by these natural rhythms and the seasons around you.

Iridology Readings

Your eyes carry a unique story of your health and wellbeing. By sending me clear photographs of your irises, I can study their patterns, colours, and fibres to reveal inherited strengths and constitutional tendencies. Iridology does not diagnose medical conditions, but it offers a valuable new perspective on how your body and emotions weave together.

You’ll receive a written summary of my observations, alongside simple lifestyle and herbal suggestions — a clear, empowering first step into understanding yourself through the lens of iridology.

Herbal Consultations

In a one-to-one consultation, we explore your health story, terrain, and daily life in depth. Together we identify the root patterns behind your symptoms — whether that’s digestion, stress, sleep, or hormonal balance. From there I create a bespoke herbal formula, crafted with care and designed to be simple, effective, and easy to integrate.

Follow-up sessions ensure the plan evolves with you, keeping your progress steady and sustainable. This is not a quick fix, but a gentle path to lasting change, rooted in nature and guided by wisdom.

Herbal Walks & Wild Medicine Making

Step into the seasons and discover the plants around you as allies for health and vitality. In my workshops, we gather roots, leaves, and flowers with care, learning how to prepare tinctures, teas, salves, and more. Each session blends practical skills with deeper connection to nature, so you leave not only with remedies in hand but also the confidence to use them at home.

This is hands-on, empowering learning — a way to bring the old traditions of medicine-making back into your everyday life.

Sessions are run seasonally - keep checking this page for updates.

Grown in Sussex, Guided by Nature

Sussex Herbal brings together foraging, seasonal wellness, and one-to-one herbal consultations. Each part supports the other. When we walk the land, we meet the plants that can nourish us. When we bring them into teas, tinctures, or simple kitchen remedies, we begin to feel their medicine at home. And when we explore your unique constitution in a consultation, the picture becomes personal — the right herbs, the right season, the right pace.

My Seasonal Notes blog offers a glimpse of this cycle — what’s ripening in the hedgerows, what’s stirring in the soil, and how nature’s rhythm can guide our own. Whether you join me for a walk, a workshop, or a consultation, the heart of Sussex Herbal is the same: to reconnect people with plants, the land, and themselves.

Rooted in Sussex

I’m Sarah, a Master Medicinal Herbalist and Iridologist. Sussex Herbal grew out of my love for this landscape — the sea, the Downs, and the ancient woods. My work is about helping people reconnect with plants and with themselves. Whether through a consultation, a seasonal walk, or a simple herbal tea, my aim is to bring medicine-making back into everyday life, where it belongs.
